DMW's Job Fair Brings Services Closer to Isabela Communities
The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Cagayan Valley took a significant step towards empowering residents of Isabela's second district by organizing a Congressional Jobs Fair Service Caravan on November 28, 2025, at the Astrodome in Barangay Minanga, San Mariano. This initiative was a collaborative effort between the DMW, the Office of Representative Ed Christopher Siquian Go, and various regional line agencies, aiming to provide job opportunities and essential services to the community.
The event was a testament to the strong partnership between these entities, with San Mariano Mayor Ana Cristina Siquian-Go welcoming participants and expressing gratitude for their active involvement. She emphasized the importance of the jobs fair in generating livelihood opportunities for the residents of San Mariano and neighboring towns, encouraging applicants to pursue these opportunities with confidence, uphold Filipino values, and stay anchored in their faith.
Gerardo M. Nicolas, DMW Regional Division Chief for Migrant Workers, supervised the activity to ensure an orderly and transparent recruitment process. He praised the national government agencies, private recruitment agencies, local partners, and district officials for their contributions to the event's success. Nicolas highlighted the DMW's mission, which goes beyond facilitating overseas employment. It is committed to promoting safe migration, regulating deployment, and protecting Filipinos from illegal recruitment.
The Department's guiding principle, 'No OFW is left behind,' was exemplified by the caravan, which brought essential migrant services directly to Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and their families. Additionally, a one-stop shop for government services was set up during the event, with the participation of OWWA, DOLE, DICT, TESDA, Pag-IBIG Fund, PhilHealth, NBI, SSS, DA, PRC, the Philippine Red Cross, and PSA, ensuring that residents had access to a wide range of services in one convenient location.
This initiative is a powerful example of how government agencies can work together to bring much-needed services and job opportunities to communities, especially those with a significant number of Overseas Filipino Workers.
